Theatres

The Missouri Theatre is located in St. Joseph, Missouri, a city of 72,000 people. One hundred years after its establishment, this trading post town included the Missoure Theatre (built in 1926) as an important part of its life. This theater is on the National Register of Historic Places (1979) and features a Moroccan Byzantine style architecture. Thanks to the citizens of St. Joseph who refused to allow the destruction of their historical building, the theatre was renovated in the 1980's and donated to the city.

This is one of the most impressive atmospheric theaters we have seen. You get the feeling that you are sitting under a tent canopy that is tied to garden walls. The blue sky and clouds add to the realistic feeling of this experience.
