The Yerkes Observatory is Located in Williams Bay, WI.
The University of Chicago operated this telescope, with the largest glass lens in the world, since 1897; however the university ceased operting the observatory. Yerkes Observatory foundation is preserving this observatory and continues to offer research and eduational opportunities. Get out there and see it and learn about this historically important facility with unique architecture like no other observatory in the world.
